I've jumped through all the paperwork hoops and am now starting to add the inventory! It's going to be awesome!
I realized that I can not only stock used books but I'm projecting adding NEW books, board games, and even teacher aides, like "Class in a Book" for all those teachers who with two weeks to start are suddenly gifted with an additional class.
I've been there!! It will include the main text with focus questions, glossary, and discussion questions for the students, a teacher's packet with: customizable schedule, master glossary of vocabulary from the text, discussion questions from the text AND teacher eyes only discussion topics with links for expanding your knowledge on a topic ASAP, quiz questions, and midterm and final questions based on the text, and hopefully even more! It should at least get a teacher from the "Why did I say I'd do this" moment to the "Okay, calm down. I've got this" sigh of relief. And best of all, it will be digital so you don't have to wait for the book to be mailed!
I must admit, I'm most excited about the games. I started playing board games with my husband and even while visiting the family and it's made us, in my opinion, closer. It gives us a nice, neutral activity that we can gather around, talk, and laugh without the distraction of TV.
I'm just getting started, too! This store is going to be amazing!
I'm also thinking of going out and hunting down interesting gadgets on the internet. Not too many, and not the dumb cheap things. For example, I found a neat glass cleaner that zooms into hard to reach places and scrubs them. It works not just on glasses but also on vases, fish tanks, collector bottles, and other curvy glass items. I spotted it in a video and hunted it down (it took 3 hours!!) because i really, really wanted it.
Would little finds like that be interesting to you?
