I was asked to make a turtle for the daycare I work at during the summer to create their own version of tucker the turtle to use as a reward for classrooms! 🐢💚

And this is what I came up with! 🎨✨

I’ve always avoided using colored pencils because I could never quite achieve that seamless blend between colors that I’m able to get with paint. But I decided to challenge myself and give it a try—and honestly, I’m pretty proud of how this turned out!

The colors blended together nicely, and it was fun stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying a different medium.

It may not be perfect, but that’s part of what makes creating art so special. Every piece teaches me something new! 💕🎨

A little behind the scenes👀🎬

This was my **first time ever painting a dragon**, let alone free-handing one! And honestly… it’s beautifully imperfect. 🥹

There are little things I would probably do differently next time, but that’s what I love about art — and life. The imperfections are what make it unique. They’re what make it **yours**.

Art doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. And neither do we. ❤️

The little imperfections, the unexpected details, the things that don’t go exactly as planned… **that’s what makes you YOU, and that’s what makes art ART.** 🎨✨

And for my first dragon? I’m pretty proud of this one. 🐉💜

**The Project Behind the Missing Footage 🐉💜**

If you’ve been following my mural journey, you may have noticed there was a little bit of the process I wasn’t able to record…

And this is why. ❤️

In between working on the mural, I was working on something much more personal — this piece for my mom, who recently lost her mom, my grandma.

And what makes this piece even more special is that I painted it on an **old record I pulled from Grandma’s things.** 🥹❤️ Instead of letting something that belonged to her sit untouched, I wanted to turn it into something my mom could keep close and treasure.

I knew she had a thing for dragons, so I wanted to make the dragon the heart of this piece. 🐉 My mom’s favorite color is purple, so I incorporated purple throughout the design as a little reminder of her.

On the back, I wrote:

**“A mother’s love never fades…**
**Her love remains.”**

Because I wanted my mom to have something that symbolizes that their connection didn’t disappear with her passing.

Her love is still here.
Her memories are still here.
And that mother-daughter connection will always remain. 💜

Sometimes, the moments we don’t capture on camera are the ones that mean the most. 🥹💜

It’s beautifully imperfect as it’s my first time painting a dragon let alone free handed and thats what makes art, art!

Every follow, like, comment, share, and even a simple view means **more than you know.** Every interaction helps push my content a little further and puts my art in front of people who may have never found me otherwise.

And honestly? It’s not always about making money when you’re building a dream. **That part will come.** Right now, it’s about creating, learning, growing, and putting myself out there.

As an upcoming artist, one of the biggest reasons I refuse to give up is because I want to show my babies that **anything is possible.** ❤️

It’s never too late to chase your dreams. It’s never too late to start something new. And it’s never too late to believe in yourself.

Crush & Sq**rt are officially finished, and I am LOVING how they turned out! 🥹✨

Here’s a little side-by-side so we can appreciate the progress! ✨

I finished up Sq**rt last night, but unfortunately I didn’t get a video of the process. 😅 I was also working on another project in between… 👀🤫 and THAT one is being saved for a surprise!

But I have to say, I’m **SO happy with how colorful I was able to make Sq**rt’s shell!** 🌈🐢 Watching all those colors come together was definitely worth the patience and frustration!

One more character checked off the mural! 🎨✨

🎨🐢 **Well… this probably isn’t the update you were expecting!** 😂🤦‍♀️

I went into painting, planning to work on Crush but only made it to his eyes… before I got completely lost working on **Sq**rt AGAIN!** 😂🐢

Apparently Sq**rt had other plans for me! 🤷‍♀️

But hey… **progress is progress!** 🎨✨ I’m loving watching these little guys come together, even if my plans don't always go according to plan.

Crush… I promise I'm coming for those eyes next! 👀😂
