October is here! Time for a few fall plant chores!

Before colder weather settles into Southern Oklahoma:

Start bringing houseplants indoors, and check them for pests first!

Take advantage of fall planting while the temperatures are cooler but the soil is still warm.

Clean up damaged or diseased growth, but don’t feel like your garden has to be spotless! Some leaves and stems can provide valuable overwintering habitat for beneficial insects.

A little work now can help set your plants and garden up for the months ahead. 💚

Sometimes repotting is about more than giving your plant a bigger pot!

Check out these before & after roots! This plant was extremely root-bound, with its roots tightly circling and packed into the shape of its old pot.

During repotting, we gently loosened and untangled the root ball. Loosening tightly bound roots can help encourage them to grow outward into the fresh potting mix rather than continuing to circle around themselves, giving the plant more room to establish new root growth.
