In the United States, the need for blood is constant, with someone requiring a transfusion every couple of seconds. A single donation, which takes less than 10 minutes, has the potential to save up to three lives. Blood is crucial for surgeries, cancer treatments, and trauma care; for example, a car accident victim may need up to 50 units of blood. Type O negative is a universal donor, while AB plasma can be given to anyone. Each donation is thoroughly tested for diseases like HIV and Hepatitis. You can donate every 56 days, making a significant impact in saving lives.
