17 days until the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival!

Right now, studio life looks a lot like this.

Orders are being packed and sent to their new homes. New batts, rolags, yarn, and Fiber Palette Kits are taking turns in front of the camera. Labels are being printed. Inventory is being counted. And somewhere in between all of that, I'm still making.

There are a lot of moving pieces as SVFF gets closer, but little by little they're starting to come together.
Yesterday I got so wrapped up in product descriptions and shop work that Fiber Field Notes completely sailed past me, and today I'm not going to manufacture a Spinning Wednesday just because the calendar says I should.

This is what's actually happening in the studio today.

September is here, which means SVFF is getting close!

I'm so excited to share that The Forager's Fleece will be vending at the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival later this month!

I've been spending a whole lot of time in the studio dyeing, carding and slowly building the mountain of fiber that's coming with me. There will be hand dyed yarn, art batts, rolags, spinning kits, and plenty of woolly goodness packed into the booth.

Some weeks are busier than others. Right now, most of my days are spent preparing for the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival, so finding time to sit down at the spinning wheel feels especially meaningful.

Even if it's only a few quiet minutes, spinning helps me slow down, reset, and remember why I fell in love with fiber in the first place.
