5 new greeting cards in a Christmassy color scheme now available! I’ve been meaning to make my bow watercolors into greeting cards and what better time than the holiday season to bring that to life!

Appalachia Strong 🤍
I have never been more proud to be from WNC. Amidst all of the heartbreaking and overwhelming aftermath of Hurricane Helene there has been one heartwarming common denominator in my experiences and in the stories I’ve heard. Neighbors helping neighbors. People from near and far lending a helping hand wherever they can. I created this design with that idea in the forefront of my mind. One singular line was put down to create the hands, which I illustrated to also look like our mountains. I hope you feel the meaning, symbolism, and hope. Now available on my website or via the link in my bio, I will be donating 100% of the profits from these t-shirt sales to people who have lost their homes. Please share with your friends, neighbors, coworkers, relatives, etc. so together we can really make a difference!

Stills from 8 days without power. Somehow amidst the (literal) darkness there was still joy to be found. In neighbors bringing coffee and charging packs. Joy in painting by candlelight or painting on the porch in the Autumn breeze. My one flower I was able to save. Comfort in the cozy crafts I love and the books I have stacked up by my bed. Time slowed. In some ways it wasn’t bad being alone and disconnected- I do enjoy my own company after all. And in other ways that was the hardest part- the time spent alone in the dark both figuratively and literally.
One morning I stood out on my porch feeling really overwhelmed when suddenly a hummingbird flew up and hovered right in front of me. He looked at me and seemed to say “everything will all be okay.” Tears welled in my eyes. The moment was fleeting but it was just what I needed. A little reminder that I wasn’t alone 🤍
While my life is beginning to return to a mostly normal state, that is not the case for many in my community. Please continue to hold WNC in your hearts and prayers and if you feel so inclined to give or help, please check or or as they’ve been doing incredible work in supporting people here. I’m also donating a portion of the proceeds from my sales on my website to Helene relief and I am working on a benefit project that I hope will be able to make an impact. But you’ll have to stay tuned for that last part because it will take me some time. Thanks for being here and for sending your love and care 💞
