Time for the gross reality of owning a piano…

Dust isn’t the only thing that may settle inside your piano. Critters like mice and bugs love to find a nice, warm place to live in the winter when it’s cold out. And sometimes they take up residence in your piano. With it being spring, now is the perfect time to lift that lid and do some inspecting to see if your piano didn’t become someone’s living quarters.

Whether your piano has become home to bugs, mice, or just dust, we’d be happy to get it cleaned up for you! Reach out to schedule your spring cleaning today ✨

Let’s talk dampers…
While they are just a small part of the piano, they have an essential job. These small pieces of wool felt stop the strings from vibrating to allow for short, rapid play. Without dampers, pianos wouldn’t sound as good as they do. Pianos without dampers would be like cars without brakes!

Two pet photos in one week for ya! Last week, Mike visited a new client and was in for a surprise with this little curious cutie! He had to remove this guy from the Steinway Grand several times while tuning 😂

Our pup Salem is helping Mike with a bigger project he is working on for a client! He is removing the hammers so they can be replaced with new heads. This whole project includes new hammers, a regulation, a piano life saver install, a tuning, and a cleaning. Phew, that’s a lot of work even with a cute helper 🐾

But in all seriousness, Mike loves working on these big projects! Keep em’ coming and follow along for updates 🎶

These two made sure I was properly greeted before heading inside for a piano tuning. 🐾

Sometimes the best part of the job is the welcoming committee. 🐶

Both acoustic and digital pianos deserve care — just in different ways.

An acoustic piano responds to humidity, temperature, and regular tuning.
A digital piano relies on proper setup, clean contacts, and safe power.

Understanding the difference helps your instrument last longer and play better. 🎶

Ever wonder why concert pianos need even more care?

A concert piano might look perfect on stage, but there’s a lot of work behind the scenes. Heavy use, changing conditions, and high expectations mean they need more frequent tuning and care to sound their best on stage.

That extra care is what makes concert magic possible. 🎹✨

Sticky or sluggish keys are your piano’s way of saying, “Something’s not quite right.”
Seasonal humidity, worn felt, or dirt and dust buildup inside the action can make keys feel sluggish.
The good news? These issues are often very fixable, especially when caught early!
