Still seeing the following I have even after closing my business post Helene is pretty awesome. And yall are all why it’s awesome. Thank you. If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to, and happen to have any interest in the following….
John deer- golf- course maintenance- gardening - turf tips- beautiful Mountain View’s- big machinery- mechanics- a crew that works hard to keep an Asheville historic landmark alive that ALSO thinks they’re funny, then go follow !!
After Hurricane Helene devastated most of the south east especially our Asheville area, I suddenly found myself on the course helping clear debris. Having to close my business and feeling the need to help my community in other ways I’ve since taken a full time position with the maintenance team at the here in east Asheville. Where I’ve spent the last 32 years. Being here means so much, and id love to have you follow along. I won’t be making candles or the likes for a while. But you never know what can happen! In the meantime, I’m working with my hands for my community in a different way that also feels right.
P.s I’m obsessed with this song since my brother pointed out the comments of everyone in their 40s saying this is the song that makes them want to go out again. And it’s no lie 🤣🤌🏽

Hello friends. I hope you are well. Things have changed since Helene crept up in our little community. It’s been a month and there’s still such heartache and devastation.

I have made the hard decision to not attend markets the rest of this year. In fact, I’m not sure about the future of Offset Clarity as of now. Like many of you, I had to pivot. Closing my business and finding a job that will help my family and community in other ways was needed. Im sad to see this go, but very grateful to continue on in other ways.

If down the road I decide to reopen, you’ll be the first to know. I have met so many wonderful encouraging people on this journey and can’t thank you all enough for the support over the last 4 years. Opening this business was so exciting and I enjoyed every minute. Creating pieces for you to enjoy in your home really meant so much to me. Thank you thank you thank you…until next time.

“We are safe, but we are not ok”

Aside from tears when being reunited, and, “ I’m so glad you’re ok” Those of us that survived this tragedy are “safe” but not ok.

We don’t even know what day it is.
Our lives were quite literally ripped out from under us. Sideswiped. Shocked. When we were able or brave enough to go outside to access the damage and check on neighbors phone lines went down. Businesses gone. Homes gone. People gone and stranded. We’ve been in straight survival mode. That’s it. Then the reality hits and you break down.

Today, we cleaned out a store I held dear to my heart. I saw Renee, the shop owner, we hugged we cried then we got to work. When I saw my sign, “life is short light the candle” I lost it. When we walked out a row of Army National Guard vehicles drove by holding our flag high. I lost it. When I drive down our country roads, I lose it.
Then when we returned home I received the flag I ordered for my other job, serving our communities golfers. People I also hold dear to my heart. Their world is shattered.
BUT I will say, I’ve never been more proud to be an ashevillian as I am today. This community has been nothing short of amazing. And we see the supplies coming in and THAT IS SAVING OUR LIVES. THANK YOU! We need it!
My mind is all over the place. I’ve had a hard time even looking on social media. We’re safe. This is what our lives look like for now. The other photos I can’t share. And the last one. Our girl. In basic training for the National guard You don’t have to ask me how proud I am or how blessed I feel in that.

Hey y’all!
I hope you are having a good start to your summer!

Ive been a little MIA lately as I took a new job at the Asheville MUNI serving up the Bev cart!

Serving will always be in my blood and I’m loving being outside all day doing just that!

So this is good news and bad news. The GOOD news is, I’m still here creating all of your favorite things!

The bad news is, I won’t be attending any markets this summer as of now.
