Classic Pound Cake
Velvety Vanilla Pound Cake
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs, room temperature
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
Prepare the Baking Pan: Grease and flour a standard-sized loaf pan or bundt pan.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Add Flavorings: Add vanilla extract to the batter.
Mix Well: Mix the batter until smooth and well combined.
Transfer to the Baking Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake: Bake for 60 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling: Allow the pound cake to cool in the pan for about 15-20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
