I first met Dave Grossman shortly after I started Crooked Creek Holler in 2014. We quickly became friends and he was a real champion for what I was trying to do. He was one of my biggest supporters, collecting art from me, and showing off the brand I was building. He never kept secrets and was always quick to share his fishing knowledge and hidden fishing holes with me. I’ve spend more time on a boat with him than just about anyone else. He happily rowed my ass around East TN, while I fished all afternoon. With Dave it was about more than the fishing. It was about quality time spent on the water, shooting the s**t, telling stories, and drinking cold beer.

I’m lucky to have gotten the time that I did. We road-tripped to Michigan for smallmouth, cut all over the south east for bass and trout, and we even flew across the country to finally take a crack at Alaskan Salmon. We really did some fun s**t.

Dave loved to make people laugh and lighten the mood. He was smart as hell and a real wordsmith when it came to writing about his passions. He was an integral voice in South Eastern outdoors and throughout his work I know he inspired many.

Dave leaves behind a family, his friends, and a huge hole in our hearts. Keep his name and memory alive.
