Thank you for helping us educate more people!✌️
REALLY?
As states across the rest of the country continue to legalize medical or recreational ma*****na, Tennessee continues to go the opposite direction.
Yup.
The most popular h**p product in Tennessee will likely soon be pulled from shelves after state senators voted to pass a bill placing limits on THCa.
The bill also moves oversight of legal h**p sales from agriculture to alcohol regulators and changes how products are taxed and where they can be sold.
The provision banning THCa was added to the bill last week.
Some lawmakers considered this a loophole for pot.
THCa is the acid precursor to delta-9 THC, which is the main component in illegal ma*****na that produces a high.
When heated (by smoking, va**ng, cooking or over time) the acid converts to delta-9, meaning it can provide a similar effect to ma*****na.
LET ME BE CLEAR: I am not a recreational ma*****na user.
But I don’t mind sharing this story with you.
Last year I suffered a serious back injury while surfing.
There was nerve damage and the pain was excruciating and constant.
Doctors prescribed powerful opioids — one after another including the strongest available — dilaudid.
None of them worked … except to constipate me and leave me in a mental haze.
The ONLY thing that provided any relief from the nerve pain was some ma*****na cookies given to me by a friend.
Bless those cookies.
Pot in Tennessee?
Illegal.
Opioids in Tennessee?
Legal.
Anyone who thinks ma*****na is more potentially harmful than opioids is an idiot.
There is no doubt in my mind if medical ma*****na was put to a public vote in this state it would pass in a landslide.
But in Tennessee this can only be decided by elected lawmakers and for whatever reason they just won’t do it.
I don’t get it.
