A local event in Petersburg to support a good cause! We hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars for the Friends of PORTA FFA's Annual Fundraiser at Wankel's Warehouse in Petersburg on February 7th! We will have a dinner and live auction this year to support the current and future PORTA FFA students!

Doors will open at 5:00
Meal will start at 6:00
Live Auction will start at 7:00

*Food: Brisket or Pork Loin with green beans, cheesy potatoes, and a dinner roll! This will be $30.00/meal.

*For the kids, we will have a Hamburger Bar with macaroni and cheese and chips! This will be free for kids 12 and under!

*There will be a cash bar and snacks available throughout the evening!

You can purchase tickets from Alliance Community Bank, Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank, any FFA member or any Friends of PORTA FFA member!

MammothMarch is coming to Cass County!

MammothMarch is a nationally recognized endurance hiking series that hosts long-distance hiking events across the country and beyond. In 2026, Cass County will be one of its host locations. Events like MammothMarch typically draw participants from well beyond the host community, creating a unique opportunity for Cass County to welcome new visitors.

Taking place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, this challenge invites participants to complete a 20-mile hike in 8 hours at Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish & Wildlife Area, one of the largest public access areas in Illinois.

The route moves through mature forest, grassland, agricultural land, and rare hill prairie, offering a demanding but rewarding outdoor experience. Finishers earn a medal and join a community of hikers who train specifically for this accomplishment.
