We see ourselves as the current stewards of a treasured Ashland gem, as TreeHouse has been in business since 1978 in this same location, made possible by our loyal customers. Every day someone expresses their gratitude for the real world experience of our bookstore. They take ownership for TreeHouse’s continued existence by choosing to purchase from us versus buying online. We tithe 10% of purchas

es of our proprietary Wizard DIY kits to SecretStoryWorld.org, a children’s literacy project. We also love this amazing Rogue Valley community that we are a part of and really enjoy creating fun and meaningful experiences to share with people of all ages. This summer we will again host monthly First Friday Artwalk parties, family themed events with other downtown businesses, quarterly seasonal celebrations co-hosted by SecretStoryWorld.org, in-store school fundraisers and author events. Kids of all ages and young adults will be introduced to the top contemporary authors as well as the classics. Tree House is located on the plaza in Ashland; the gateway to two of the city's gems, Lithia Park and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Join us on our website:

Happy Juneteenth National Independence Day!
Also known as Jubilee Day, Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, and Black Independence Day - Juneteenth is the oldest known nationally celebrated commemorations of the ending of slavery in the United States. It is also a day for celebrating African-American culture, joy and resilience!

Here are some featured books written & illustrated by some amazing Black authors teaching about the history and celebrating Black joy! Including a few new ones this year:

Hello Magical Creatures of Ashlandia!
Owl of TreeHouse Books and Raven of Secret StoryWorld/White Rabbit invite you, the Magical Creatures and Faery Children of Ashlandia, to a Midsummer Tea Party hosted by the FaeryGodmothers in Lithia Park on Saturday, June 27th, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

The festivities take place in the large grassy field above the Lower Duck Pond, (which is in the shade and has a cool breeze), making it the perfect spot to be on a lovely Summer’s Day.

Bring a picnic blanket, a Tea Set and some picnic fare. The FaeryGodmothers will have organic FlowerFaery Tea to fill your teapots and some treats to share. (Don’t worry -unlike the known rule of Faeryland and the cautionary tales of eating their food, it’s safe to eat THESE treats while in FaeryLand and Vegan & Gluten-free options will be available too.)

When you arrive at the party, our Faeryland Guides will be handing out your very own Passport to FaeryLand. This passport will list the day’s program, including all of the 6 Faeries to meet and will tell you your task to complete (and then you’ll have earned a special gift from FaeryLand!).
There will also be a map on the welcome table so that you can see where the enchanted places are located.

This is a free family event, sponsored by TreeHouse Books and The Secret Story World, a local non-profit under ART NOW who received a community-events grant from The City of Ashland.
