This Banned Books Week, October 4–10, 2026, the Rogue Liberation Library is asking the community to do something simple and powerful: buy a book for a prisoner.

At Bloomsbury Books, shoppers can purchase titles from a wish list of books specifically requested by incarcerated readers. Every book purchased will be donated to the Rogue Liberation Library, helping put reading material directly into the hands of people behind bars.

With book subjects ranging from a rock climber's love letter to the sport, to our broken healthcare system to a poetry reading, this month is jam packed! We even have a reading with former Mayor Julie Akins and former Ashland Schools Superintendent, John Daggett! And of course don't forget about the 4th Annual Ashland Mystery Festival, this year is going to be the best yet! 🔎

Remember that feeling when the Book Fair came to town — the anticipation... the joy... the smelly erasers and bendy pencils just waiting to be purchased? This all-ages event brings the love of literacy, imagination, and nostalgia to life. Sip craft brews, browse books and comics, and relive the magic of book fairs past. 📚
Also... local artist Ursula Barton will lead a one-of-a-kind community mural project. You'll have the chance to throw paint-filled balloons at the museum's exterior, creating a colorful large-scale mural!
