Feeding a team gets a whole lot easier when you stop trying to make it harder than it needs to be.

These are 5 things I always do when feeding a team:
1️⃣ I don’t make everything from scratch.
Rotisserie chicken, prepared sauces, pre-cut produce, store-bought shortcuts…they’re tools, not cheating.
2️⃣ I serve buffet-style whenever I can.
Put the food out and let athletes build their own plates. Less work for me + everyone gets what they actually want.
3️⃣ I always have more carbs than I think I need.
Rice, pasta, potatoes, tortillas and bread are inexpensive ways to stretch a meal—and hungry athletes can EAT.
4️⃣ I keep food easy to eat.
Especially for tournaments, away games and bus rides. Nothing too messy, complicated or requiring a knife and fork if I can help it.
5️⃣ I count the coaches.
Because 50 athletes usually doesn’t mean 50 mouths. Coaches, managers and the extras need to eat too.
And maybe the most important thing I’ve learned:
The goal isn’t a Pinterest-perfect team dinner.
It’s good food, happy athletes, and a mom who still gets to watch the game.
Because I’m a sports mom…
not a short-order cook. ❤️
Save this for the next time someone says, “Can you feed the team?”
