Sharing this here bc "this" has long term effected my work life. So here we are! Not looking for sympathy BUT really sharing for awarness, knowledge, perspective, & real life👍👌
➡️➡️For those that don't know my health journey with this disease...I have had pain most of my life really starting at the age of 16. I went to multiple doctors my whole life searching for answers & none were given. Never through my journey was "endometriosis or andenomyosis" a conversation. Doc #15 is the endo specialist that I seeked out myself with no medical: help, guidance, or assistance. Symtoms ended up being 24/7. Sure enough endometriosis & andenomyosis was found on ultrasound done at the specialist office that then also did my surgery. Then again found when I had surgery & to confirm it all the pathology report confirmed I had/have endometriosis, PLUS all my biopsy tissue taken for pathology ALL came back possitive for endometriosis. That alone says I was right all along, that my pain was/is not normal, that I am not crazy!!!!
Recovery Update:
Surgery for⤵️
Aka
1.Endometriosis (mostly all deep in the pelvic area)
2.Andenomyosis (of the uterus- microwave ablation done to keep all my lady organs)
3. Appendectomy
4. Shortening of my internal umbilical cord "stalk" shortened (surgeon went in & noticed it was abnormally longer than normal)
5. Not surgery for but suspected MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) have to wait 4 ish months post op to see what my "new" norm will be immune system wise & then possible treatment
✨️ currently starting week #5 post op
⭐️💛🎗Each week & each day things are slowly improving. Some endo symptoms have completely gone away so far & time will tell if others do also. When they say surgery is a journey it really is! I think I am one that naturally heals slower than the average person & that is okay. Each day post op really is different & no two days are the same. Healing on your own timeline is best & not to compare your journey to any others journey but perspective is always helpful for knowledge & awarness.
Still dealing with the normal post op surgery stuff, abdominal muscle tightness/spasms, fatigue, post surgery internal healing feels, journeying through 3 ish cycles that can be worse than your cycle before surgery, lifting restrictions, swelling, bloating, symptoms that really just fluctuate throughout the day randomly on thier own timeline, etc.
The best is yet to come☺️
