It’s and I am excited to tell you about my new favorite spot in town. Ken and I just had a mini staycation at the and the relaxation levels and views were on point. I have stayed at other amazing hotels in town but this one was my favorite experience. Could not stop staring at the birds eye view of our beautiful town.

We had phenomenal weather for our stay and even got to see a shooting star! However, I could see enjoying watching the weather from here too. Read a book by the fire with a glass of wine? Hot tub and sauna in the drizzle? How fun would that be!?!

Also, can someone please book an intimate wedding here and hire me for their florals? I think this spot would make for some amazing pictures and the best chill vibes.

Floral art means starting your day at the market at 5:30am with the child in tow. It means driving 2 hours, rushing back to drop off the child at daycare, rush to the shop to process flowers and finish the bridal bouquet. It means working through covering shifts for sick staff. It means getting a comment from a looky-loo customer about how I get “the fun job of playing with flowers”. It means loading my car and driving an hour down the beach to drop off bridal party flowers and bud vases then driving up to the staked out spot at Arcadia beach to set up for the ceremony. It means carefully pushing/pulling an overloaded cart down the very bumpy path then across the dry sand to the water’s edge just to discover that “the spot” is still under water and we have to wait a couple of hours for the tide to go down. It means prepping as much as we can while we wait then chasing off dogs and looky-loos who want to mess with the flowers. It means rushing to dig holes and set everything up minutes before the wedding party arrives. It means enjoying the creation long enough to take a couple of videos and photos then pushing the cart back through the sand and up the hill, drive an hour to the shop, drop stuff off and hurry to pick up the child and then home to make dinner and crash. I love my job.

Someone thinks you need some floral mood boosting or thinks you need to know they care about you and think you are a cool person. ☺️

Flowers don’t have to be real and in person to give you the benefits of cheering up….although real flowers are even better. Have an awesome day!

Today was a good day! Such a fun experience to participate in our first parade! And to win first place float award to boot!

We brought out our “Moss”ler Bridge for the occasion so we could “raise the river” with our play on this years Astoria Regatta theme “Raised on the River”. Thank you to Heidi Fastaband for all the beautiful blue hydrangea and Christy for jumping in and helping with early morning hydrangea stuffing and final details. Ken’s RC boat hobbies came in clutch too with the boat additions!

We are so sorry we ran out of flowers so quickly! Nina was so sad she couldn’t give everyone a flower today.

It was such a pleasure to hear the princesses speeches Wednesday night and watch Jeff Daly’s inspiring video about our historical life on the river. It flooded me with emotions thinking back to my grandparents and dad immigrating here in the 60’s and making a new life on the river through the canneries and lumber industry. Water was very much a part of their life in Finland before moving here and the Columbia river is what drew them here. There is definitely something in me that has always been drawn to the river too. It feeds my soul, it brought me my husband and has become my home. It is my dream to someday actually get out in the river in a boat (I know, I still have never had the privilege.)

Congratulations to Queen Teslyn and all the princesses. The speeches were inspiring! My favorite quote of the night was Princess Daphne’s quote “Never admire quietly. If I admire something about someone, I tell them. We humans are so fragile. It’s important we give people their flowers while they are still here.” - Chimamanda Adichie

All that to say, I actually have a bit of extra time this week so we have decided to finally participate in the land parade! Bringing back our Astoria “Moss”ler Bridge with fun plans to “raise the river” on it. Can’t wait to see you all on the parade route while we pass out free flowers. Because of our participation with the parade we will be closed all day Saturday.

Haley and Joseph’s wedding is for a wedding. Venue was my brother and sister-in-laws beautiful backyard. Vibes were the most chill I’ve experienced.
