Commercial Astoria

Commercial Astoria Shopping for the Independent Spirit! In early 2011 Greg Glover and his wife Alana-Jevert Glover rented an apartment in downtown Astoria.

A year later they took over an empty storefront that now features: new and vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories, gifts and the best selection of new and vintage/used LPs on the coast.

Finally getting some of the Commercial Astoria stock out of the basement and displayed at CrossRoads Music in Portland (SE Foster/82nd)! Some great stuff at pre-pandemic prices. I think I may keep it going too. Decided to use the podcast name this time around.🤓

We had a blast! Eight years ago we took over an empty storefront and transformed it into a place we'd like to hang out in and it became our home away from home. Thanks to all who helped us in our little venture and to all the friends and (now) family we made along the way! LPs will slowly but surely be listed online (links etc. will be posted here). We also plan to "pop up" in the near future. Godspeed!

They swore in their sleevenotes they'd never do it but in 1980 they caved and used synthesizers for the first time on their ninth studio album 'The Game'. It became their only #1 in the US and yet is often overlooked. Sure, "Another One Bites The Dust" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" took it to the top of the charts but there are some other gems on this one including "Don't Try Su***de" which resonates today. This copy is MINT and still has most of the shrink on it. Only $13 (postage paid). PayPal: [email protected]

Hi folks! It's been awhile and things have gotten pretty wonky. We hope you are staying safe and healthy. As you know our shop is TINY so it is impossible to maintain "social distancing" parameters therefore we'll be closed until further notice. We'll be listing items in our Ebay store (www.ebay.com/usr/minklungs) in the coming days/weeks. If we sell just 10-15 LPs per week we may be able to weather this crazy storm. Take care of those around you and until we see you in person next time...keep calm and carry on!

Here's a fun watch for your Friday! My old buddy Mike is originally from Portland but moved to Seattle years ago to join Harvey Danger on guitar. He's currently living in Upstate New York and playing with Duff McKagan's (ex Guns N' Roses) band Loaded. He's also started a fun venture called Couch Riffsâ„¢ where he is joined (usually on his couch) by various musicians to cover some great tunes. In this episode Mike is joined by Eric of Portugal. The Man as they pay tribute to the recently departed Eddie Money with his smash "Shakin'". We like Mike and his shirt! Enjoy and have a great weekend!
