Nobody really prepares you for the feelings that can come up when your friend starts getting close to new people.

You can be genuinely happy for her and still feel a little jealous, left out, insecure, or even replaced.

Sometimes the friendship hasn’t actually changed — your access to her just has. And sometimes, if we’re being fair, the friendship *has* changed and your feelings are picking up on something real.

The work is figuring out the difference.

Healthy friendship means allowing people to have full lives, multiple relationships, and new connections without automatically seeing those relationships as a threat.

But healthy friendship also means being honest when you feel forgotten, deprioritized, or pushed to the side.

Not every uncomfortable feeling means something is wrong.

Sometimes you need reassurance.
Sometimes you need a conversation.
And sometimes you need to sit with why someone else’s closeness feels like a loss to you.

We’re excited to welcome Reesa Teesa Tareasa M. Johnson for a special virtual Book Club experience centered around self-worth, heartbreak, healing, discernment, starting over, and what happens when life doesn’t go according to plan.
