🍃 Where it all began…
Founded in 1924 as a tea and citrus nursery, the Ziraat Tea Garden became the cradle of Türkiye’s tea journey. Here, the first successful cultivation of tea plants from seed confirmed Rize’s unique suitability for tea production, laying the foundation for the thriving tea culture we know today.
I loved wandering its paths, reliving history, and stepping into the Çaykur Tea Lab — a garden where tradition, experimentation, and growth continue to shape every cup, including mine!🍵

Spending time with tea friend the Rize Tea Trade Center was a true honor — a window into the heart of Türkiye’s tea heritage. Nestled in the eastern Black Sea mountains, Rize is the country’s largest tea‑growing region, home to more than 200,000 farming families. Here, tea truly sits at the center of daily life. Grateful for the insight, the hospitality, and the shared love of tea that connects us across cultures.
