NOW HIRING: Lead Preschool Teacher / Program Coordinator
The Early Learning Studio — McDonough, GA
Part-Time | Monday–Friday | Approximately 25 Hours Per Week
Pay: $500 per week
Paid scheduled school breaks + paid time off
The Early Learning Studio is a small, intentionally designed early-learning program serving preschool-aged children in a warm, hands-on environment.
Our approach emphasizes early academics, practical life skills, science and exploration, creativity, independence, social-emotional development, and meaningful learning experiences. Our small class size allows our educators to truly know each child and provide individualized support.
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, highly organized Lead Preschool Teacher / Program Coordinator who is capable of independently managing the day-to-day operation of our preschool classroom.
This is not simply a classroom supervision position. The Lead Teacher is responsible for instruction, classroom management, documentation, family communication, classroom organization, and designated administrative responsibilities.
Schedule
This is a consistent Monday–Friday position of approximately 25 hours per week.
The primary classroom schedule is approximately 8:30 AM–1:00 PM. Additional paid time within the 25-hour workweek is designated for documentation, administrative responsibilities, lesson preparation, classroom organization, and related duties.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is $500 per week.
Employees continue to receive their regular weekly compensation during scheduled school breaks and holidays listed on The Early Learning Studio's annual calendar. Scheduled school closures do not require employees to use their personal PTO.
Following successful completion of the introductory employment period, eligible employees also receive:
5 paid sick/personal days per year
5 paid vacation days per year
Paid scheduled school breaks and holidays
Vacation time must be requested and approved in advance to ensure adequate program coverage.
Classroom & Teaching Responsibilities
The Lead Preschool Teacher / Program Coordinator is responsible for independently leading the daily preschool classroom and implementing The Early Learning Studio's established curriculum and educational philosophy.
Responsibilities include facilitating developmentally appropriate lessons and hands-on learning experiences; preparing materials and activities; maintaining daily classroom routines; supervising children throughout the program day; supporting children's independence, social-emotional development, and practical-life skills; providing appropriate assistance with toileting, handwashing, meals/snacks, and other age-appropriate needs; maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment; and adapting activities when necessary to support individual learners.
The Lead Teacher should be comfortable taking ownership of the classroom rather than requiring continuous direction throughout the day.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
This is a documentation-heavy position.
Strong written communication, organization, attention to detail, and timely completion of required documentation are essential functions of this role.
Responsibilities may include maintaining attendance and classroom records; completing student observations and progress documentation; documenting children's participation, skills, accomplishments, and areas requiring additional support; maintaining required student records; completing incident or injury documentation when applicable; providing appropriate family updates; maintaining lesson and activity records; monitoring classroom supplies and inventory; and completing other program-related administrative responsibilities.
Documentation must be accurate, professional, thorough, and completed within required timelines.
Applicants who are uncomfortable with frequent written documentation or administrative responsibilities are unlikely to be a good fit for this position.
Classroom Cleaning & Organization
The Lead Teacher is responsible for maintaining their classroom throughout the school day and leaving the learning environment clean, organized, and prepared for the following day.
Daily responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing tables and frequently used surfaces; cleaning after meals, snacks, art projects, and activities; sanitizing and properly storing classroom materials; returning learning materials to designated areas; organizing shelves and activity spaces; maintaining an orderly classroom; monitoring supplies; and completing a daily classroom reset.
This position does not include deep cleaning of the entire facility. However, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the classroom and children's learning spaces is an expected part of the position.
Family Communication
The Lead Teacher should communicate with families in a warm, professional, and appropriate manner.
Responsibilities may include providing updates regarding a child's day, communicating developmental observations or classroom concerns, responding appropriately to routine parent questions, and notifying administration when a situation requires additional follow-up.
All communication regarding children and families must remain professional, timely and confidential.
Qualifications
Previous professional experience working with preschool-aged children is required.
We strongly prefer candidates with experience in early childhood education, preschool, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, private education, or another hands-on early-learning environment.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organization and time management; consistent attendance and punctuality; sound judgment; initiative; professionalism; comfort working independently; and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities without sacrificing the quality of children's care or documentation.
CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Candidates who are not currently certified must be willing to obtain certification.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background and employment screenings.
The Person We're Looking For
We are looking for an educator who takes genuine ownership of their classroom.
You should be able to arrive prepared, organize your environment, lead an engaging school day, recognize and respond to children's individual needs, communicate professionally, complete required documentation, reset your classroom, and identify what needs attention without requiring constant supervision.
We value educators who are dependable, thoughtful, observant, nurturing, organized, and genuinely interested in how young children learn.
This position may be especially appealing to an experienced educator seeking a small classroom environment, consistent weekday schedule, meaningful autonomy, and a part-time position with paid scheduled school breaks.
