Thank you to all who stopped by to hear from Johanna Flores, Ato Ribeiro, and Ivy Wu at our "Material Poesy" artists' talk on Sunday! We had a fantastic afternoon hearing from our artists.

"Material Poesy" will be on view through October 29, after which we will begin preparations for our annual Holiday Art Fair, which will run from November 13 - December 23.

Ivy Wu translates the discipline of Chinese calligraphy into Abstract Expressionism, merging Eastern tradition with Western abstraction.

Ato Ribeiro's work seeks to bridge his African American identity and West African heritage: "By employing familiar practices — of collecting, joining and refining natural and repurposed materials — these wooden kente quilt works provide educational opportunities to seek out new points of reference, while preserving layers of African cultural heritage and varying ethnic perspectives."

✨Introducing our AMPLIFY Finalists: Ayana Ross✨

Ayana Ross is a Savannah-born, Atlanta-based oil painter. She has served as an art instructor for over 18 years and has shown her work in galleries and museums across the U.S. — including in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

Ayana’s work combines contemporary realism with elements of decorative ornamentation to shed light on everyday moments. Her narrative works explore intergenerational themes of reclamation, care, and continuity.

✨Introducing our AMPLIFY Finalists: Chad Creasy✨

Chad Creasy is an Atlanta native and oil painter. A graduate of the Atlanta College of Art, Creasy is also a full-time graphic artist and serves as a painting instructor at Spruill Center for the Arts.

Chad works primarily in figurative oil painting, combining elements of realism, impressionism, and surrealism to create highly symbolic works. He has shown work at Spruill Gallery, The Oddities Museum, the Marriott Hotel, and at a number of private events.

Tamar Atik is an English/American artist based between the U.S. and Mexico. She has 5 years of large-scale mural experience and has created murals in the U.S., Mexico, and Guatemala.

Tamar’s work explores themes of balance, connection, community, growth, regeneration, nature, and energy. Passionate about making art accessible to all and inspiring the next generation of artists, she enjoys involving the surrounding community in the creation of her public art projects.
