CLIMB Crafts

CLIMB Crafts CLIMB Crafts is a calm maker home base. A place for learning, belonging, and creating at a human pace. We’re small and shaping the space slowly.

You’re welcome to share, respond, or just look around.

Something we’ve been noticing...

When people enter a new creative space, they don’t usually start by posting. They pause. They read. They try to figure out what kind of place it is first. We realized we never really showed what that looks like inside CLIMB, just what it is.

Right now, it’s still early and simple.

Sometimes it looks like picking a project back up for a few minutes. Sometimes it’s sharing something unfinished. Sometimes it’s just reading and getting a feel for things.

If you’ve been curious, you can take a look whenever you feel ready.

CLIMB is live, but we’re opening it slowly and carefully.

There’s no launch, no timeline, and no expectation to join or participate. I’m shaping the space gently and letting it grow at a human pace.

If you were curious before, you’re welcome to look around quietly. If now isn’t the time, that’s completely okay too.

I won’t be posting about this repeatedly; this is just a heads-up for those who asked earlier or wanted early access.

Sometimes what we make isn’t just an object.

It’s the memory of what we’ve carried, the patience we learned, the hunger that kept us curious.

Every stitch, every brushstroke, every bead, it’s proof of love made visible.

When we make by hand, we pull something invisible into the world, something that reminds us of passion, memory, hunger, care, hope, and love.

That’s what keeps the thread moving.

💻+🪡 The craft world is shifting online digital marketplaces, hybrid craft kits, even AI pattern tools.
Have you blended digital + handmade in your work? (ex: selling a PDF pattern, teaching on Zoom, or remixing digital prints into your crafts?)

🧵 Joann’s closure left a huge gap and now Michaels is moving fast to fill it.

They’ve added fabric + yarn in more stores than Joann ever had, and even bought Joann’s Big Twist brand.

But here’s the question: does a big-box solution really meet what makers need?

👉 Where are you actually sourcing your materials now, and what gaps still remain?

Research shows many makers struggle with the business side of their craft pricing, sourcing, and visibility. And yet, that leap from hobby to income is part of why CLIMB exists.

Here’s our question for you:
✨ If you dream of turning your craft into income, what’s the one part that feels the hardest right now?

Your answers will help shape the kind of support and resources we share through CLIMB Crafts.

✨ Maker Spotlight: Alicia de los Reyes | Handmade History Podcast

Alicia doesn’t just craft with her hands; she crafts with her voice.

Through the Handmade History Podcast, co-hosted with her sister, Alicia brings forward stories of women like Jessie Young, a 1920s radio homemaker who shared tips and stories over the airwaves. From macrame stitches to heirloom quilts, Alicia’s work connects the threads between everyday women and the legacy of craft that shaped our homes and heritage.

“Learning about the history of crafts helps us connect to our heritage. We are all connected to our ancestors through crafts.” — Alicia de los Reyes

Her podcast isn’t just storytelling. It’s documenting. It’s honoring. It’s weaving back the voices that never made it into history books: mostly women, mostly makers, mostly quiet.

📻 You can now hear her voice directly in the Maker Vault. She shared a clip for this special feature.

CLIMB is honored to hold this story. A voice that feels like a soft echo through time and a steady hand through the noise.
