A beautiful Voirin model violin bow sporting icy blue silk and silver and some cool mother of Pearl slide and eyes! I love these pearl pieces, up close they look like crushed ice. Thinking of a chilly winter ahead!

You may have noticed my bow making has been more and more featured on my website and social media. This may come as no surprise but I have decided it is time to make bow making my priority. I have realized that I am in a unique position to dedicate the time and effort to making bows full-time, and I need to seize this opportunity. Therefore, going forward, I will have fewer appointment times and will be further limiting the other services I have provided. Thank you for your patience and I’m so honored to have your support in this new creative endeavor. So, please reach out well in advance and feel free to try a Cameron Robertson bow and my premium rosin while you’re here! Β

Alright, I finally got some finished photos of both of these Sartory cello bows! One octagonal, one round, both right around 82 gms. Sill lovin' the lava red pearlslide and eye, but the beautiful abalone of the round one turned out pretty nice too! These beauties will be available at Sam's Strings in Texas!

A new pair of Sartory model violin bows just finished! I really loved working the graceful curves of the heads, and the frogs just feel so good in the hand. It's amazing how just little changes in the shapes, the thickness of chamfers, or thinner headplate material can change the way it looks. The details in bowmaking are so challenging, and yet that's where each one gets its personality, both in look and playability. I love trying to get it just right, and each one is a chance to improve. And I love the classy all-black grips with the metal wound in!

Both sticks feel really smooth and stable, yet lively and energetic!

Silver mounted - 60.4 gms
Shibu-Ichi Bronze - 61.1 gms

I always love the funny way this stage of shaping the bow looks, but it's so much easier to lay out the front profile and make things nice and square! πŸ‘Œ

New Year, New Projects! Excited to get started on my new bows for 2023, a pair of Sartory Violin bows, one stick a little lighter and one a little denser with matching pieces of ebony from the same block. Working with great materials is such a pleasure! 😁

Due to my high sensitivity to pernambuco, I've set up a planing bench outside and it makes a huge difference! Thank goodness for this beautiful Georgia weather!
