I know, I know, it’s been awhile, but this message is too important not to post.
For many years of my life I had convinced myself that I wouldn’t be fortunate enough to get married because of my disability. People have their preferences (tall, red head, muscular, etc.), but never disabled (aside from those with strange fetishes, but let’s not go there!). In my mind, I was at a major disadvantage.
It wasn’t until I got comfortable and confident in my own “skin” that I realized I was most certainly worthy of finding someone who wanted to share their life with me. Not only that, but I actually had a major advantage; my disability allowed me to w**d out the frogs and find someone with a huge heart and wow, did I get lucky.
So for those of you who may have had similar thoughts, just know that it starts with you. Accept yourself, appreciate your differences and the leg up it actually gives you (had to throw in a leg pun). Confidence is so attractive and sexy, watch what it will do for you.
It made me whole. ❤️💍👰🏼♀️
