Sink went from guest roles in The Americans and Blue Bloods to playing Max Mayfield in Stranger Things. Public estimates put her initial Stranger Things pay near $20,000 an episode, rising to about $150,000 by Season 3.

By the final season, reports placed her deal around $7 million. The Whale, O’Dessa and Spider-Man: Brand New Day carried her from independent film and streaming into Marvel.

Henry Cavill had to keep his Mission: Impossible – Fallout mustache during Justice League reshoots, forcing its digital removal. Kit Harington’s Game of Thrones contract controlled his hair, while Margot Robbie said production insurance stopped her playing ice hockey.

Other bans went beyond filming: the Academy barred Will Smith from its events for 10 years starting April 8, 2022, and the Hard Rock stopped Ben Affleck from playing blackjack after identifying him as an advantage player.
