The 2026 Carolina Kite Fest will be held Oct. 24-25, at the beautiful Ft. Macon State Park. Flying is normally centered around the swimming beach, which is the first parking lot on the right after you enter the Fort grounds. The Park offers large flying fields, ample parking, rest rooms, and the opportunity to visit the best state park in North Carolina. Bring your kites to fly, and take time to meet other flyers for two days of pure kite fun. We expect flying to be best between 10 and 4 both days. This is a free event sponsored by Kites Unlimited in the Atlantic Station Shopping Center.

As with all Kite events, local weather will be taken into account. .

As the 250th anniversary approaches remember that we carry a large selection of historic flags as well as current flags of all sizes. We of course have the 250th flag and fan banners, garden flags, and decorative flags in all sizes with poles and brackets. Flag Day, Fathers Day, and Independence Day are almost here.
For the kite flyers we have released another round of "KITES FROM THE VAULT." These include some from Joel Scholtz, Sutton Flow Forms, "Eye Soars"from Rick O'Shea, and stunt kites from the dark ages. These are new, nearly new, lightly flown, and a few very experienced. Come see them if you have interest.

This is a very late THANK YOU to the wonderful folks who helped with the Mothers Day fly for the Mile of Hope. John, Karen, Buddy, Melinda, and Jerry did a great service and helped lots of children have a day of fun at the beach. They appreciated it and we do also. THANKS

Two things of note this week.
FIRST remember Sunday is Mothers Day. This is important. Do what you can to make sure your mother knows you appreciate her. If we can help come see us.

We lost another great man in Peter Lynn. He was a designer and innovator who also was open and sharing with his talents. We will miss him and cherish his kites and our memories of flying with him. Rest in peace.

This is the last week before EASTER. We have flags, windsocks, gifts for the yard from bird feeders to ceramic critters, Puzzles and games for the after dinner activities. We have lots more and you need to come see us soon. We are looking forward to seeing you.
