Some easy winter tips for your houseplants:
1) Move to Alabama, where both you and your plants will be happier.
2) Just kidding, I meant to say Costa Rica.
Seriously:
* Plants require less water in winter BUT that does not mean stop watering altogether - it just means be mindful of your conditions and water less frequently to adjust.
* The sun shifts with the seasons, make sure your plants are still in a bright location, or the level of light that they require to survive.
* Indoor heating, most don't mind a little, but constant dry air blowing across your plants may dry them out faster. A humidifier is a simple solution and it does NOT have to be a fancy or expensive one.
* Yellowing and dropping of a few leaves is NORMAL. There's no reason to freak if all of your plants drop a leaf or two - Spring is right around the corner and I promise those leaves will be back. πΏ
