MT PRO TIP…

We recently read that some folks struggle with hoochies… and one angler said that he’s never caught one on a hoochie.

THE TIP: We rig our hoochies on a short leader creating an aggressive side-to-side swing behind the dodger. This is all good on hoochie lakes like Stampede, where the Kokanee are more aggressive… But on “spinner” lakes where the Kokanee prefer to hit a ”straight line” offering you’re going to want to lengthen the leader or in our case add another 6-inches so that the hoochie is running straight with a tiny bit of wiggle.
You should do this in lakes such as Berryessa and others (spinner lakes) where Kokes seem to prefer the “straight-line” offering.
