The Christmas Challenge:
A Full Christmas with Nothing

Scripture Reading (KJV):

> “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
— Matthew 6:21

Reflection of the Day:
What if the Whos from Whoville had it right—and what if the Grinch was right too? What if Christmas could still be full even if everything else was gone? This is not a rejection of Christmas. It is a return to its center. Christmas Day is the celebration of the birth of Christ, and it should be honored as a true celebration. You should have a meal—some kind of feast—on Christmas Day and give thanks for the gift of Jesus. That is good and right.

But the days leading up to Christmas invite us into something deeper.

This year, Notes from My Father’s Book is challenging you to embrace the thought of having nothing—and still having a full Christmas. To set aside the pressure, the noise, and the expectations, and to choose worship instead. This is not about deprivation; it is about intention. It is about discovering whether Christ alone is enough.

Today, around 2:00 p.m., the Lord visited me—not with words, not with instruction, but with His presence. The scent of frankincense and myrrh filled the room, and I knew the Holy Spirit was there. I stopped what I was doing and worshiped Him. I kept worshiping Him. And even now, I am worshiping Him through the music I listen to and what I allow into my space. There was no striving—only reverence.

That is what we are inviting you into.

For the next seven days leading up to Christmas, choose worship over wanting. Choose presence over presents. Each day, wait on God for what He wants you to worship Him for that day. There is no script and no performance. God is in charge of the message—but you are responsible for the choice. You must decide what kind of Christmas you are going to have this year.

If you had nothing—
and still had Jesus—
would that be enough?

Prayer Declaration:
Father, I receive this challenge with humility and gratitude. I choose to lay down distraction and expectation, and I invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell within my heart. Teach me to worship You freely, to trust You daily, and to prepare my heart to celebrate the birth of Jesus with sincerity and joy. Let my Christmas be full—not because of what I have, but because of who You are. Amen.

This Christmas, may your heart overflow with worship, your table be filled with gratitude, and your joy be rooted in Christ alone. 🎵☕✝️
