On display now: The San Francisco Oracle.

The Oracle was poet Allen Cohen’s dream made real, a rainbow-colored newspaper published right here in the Haight from September 1966 to February 1968. At its peak, over half a million people were reading each issue.

Come see it in person and explore the artists, visionaries, and stories behind it.

And there’s no better way to mark our 1-year anniversary than hearing directly from Ann Cohen (), widow of Allen Cohen, as she reads from his personal notes and poetry — joined by filmmaker Jesse Block on the making of the Oracle. Friday, May 29 at 3:00 PM.

hey, everyone here! I'm currently working on my website: auburndaleusedmedia.com. It will be different from this fb page. It won't be a sales site. It will be an online exhibit featuring covers of books, records, and dvds by and about what I consider the best of american counterculture. I think of it as a visual index. In addition to commercially-produced media, it will have a representative sample of underground newspapers from the 60s and 70s. there will also be a section for theoretical books covering works of great thinkers of the 60s and 70s. It will be an ongoing project for some time, but you are welcome to take a sneak peek at anytime. Thanks again for following! Dan
