hi everyone, thanks for being here. it has been a while and i want to give an update, as well as ask for advice and suggestions. my first priority was to create the auburndaleusedmedia.com website, which is now complete. from here, i will add new categories and items as i go, but it looks great, with almost 500 items listed, and much reduced pricing.
this page (note the name change), is intended to be a think-tank, with the idea of brainstorming and planning possible music and/or movie screenings. my first thought was to consider presenting eno's videos, as Steven Toth notably did years ago in Ft. Lauderdale. another idea is to present Andy Warhol films, as i also have dvd copies of some of those. but really those are just examples and it is really an open-ended concept.
the events could be held in various locations, such as South FL, perhaps Tallahassee, where my friend Scott lives, or Pittsburgh (convenient to my friends and moral-supporters David and Gregory).
i plan to do local screenings here in the Auburndale/Winter Haven/ Lakeland area, including vintage kid's movies and literary movies in libraries, and hopefully eventually double feature nights at local venues.
of course all of this is for down the road apiece, as all my funds are tied-up in starting aum.
lastly, i would like to solicit your suggestions and advice. i am starting the promotion process for the site. i have no experience in online promotion. i am getting help from a professional, but i welcome any ideas.
and... if you have any suggestions for books, movies, and/or record albums that in your opinion fit what i am presenting on the aum site, i welcome that as well.
i hope we generate some interesting discussions here.
thanks!

Here's another Weirdo cover done by Crumb in 1984. And another great border, with Crumb placing himself (and his family) in the lower-left corner. Crumb had this to say about the cover illustration:

My brother lived off of 6th Street in San Francisco, and sometimes when I visited him, I would pass this little Philippine restaurant–that's what inspired this store front illustration. Thefather and his son are probably Philippine too. The homeless woman is thinking about a fish [laughs]. That's some kind of Bosch or a Bruegel reference, I can't remember which.
