Ever wonder how all these murals ended up around ACAD — or how to get your work up there? Now’s your chance.

Colfax Canvas artist applications are open through May 31. Here’s what to know before you apply:
This is Phase 1 — we want to learn about you and your work. No designs required yet.

We welcome muralists of all experience levels, ages, backgrounds, and communities. All work must be youth-appropriate.

Keep your answers honest and concise. We just want a taste of who you are.

Artists will be paid a minimum of $1,250. Paying muralists comes before everything else — and we grow that number every year.

Aurora-based artists (live, work, or grew up here) will receive additional weight in the review process.

One application per artist. Housing and travel not provided. Artists who painted at Colfax Canvas in the past 3 years are not eligible.

A few quick clicks and you can support the creation of a new business entity dedicated to artists and creative enterprises! SB26-133 Colorado Artist Company Act, sponsored by Senators Bridges and Catlin and Reps Martinez and Taggart, passed the Senate last month and is assigned to the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee. That crucial House committee hearing is on Wednesday, May 6.

If you reside in a district represented by one of the committee members, you can contact them now through the Colorado Arts Action Network and show your support for SB26-133 with pre-written, customizable message. https://bit.ly/3OVw7n9

This committee hearing is a critical step in order to pass this bill before the end of the legislative session on May 13. SB26-133 is a first-in-the-nation bill that would empower and benefit artists. It offers a blueprint to create a business that provides greater protection, access to capital, and collaboration for artists of all kinds.

The Creative Alliance of Downtown Aurora is seeking a creative agency to develop the brand identity, narrative, and communications strategy for Aurora’s only Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) certified Arts District.

This is a chance to help define how Aurora’s creative community is seen, experienced, and celebrated — across public spaces, digital platforms, and community storytelling.
