I came across this in my stuff this morning. My old band, The Explosives, opened for the Ventures twice at Club Foot back in the early 1980s. Here’s a poster done by Cam from the first show. The Ventures were great and very nice guys. I think Cam went to breakfast after the show with some of them. Maybe he will see this post and give us a report. Did I mention how much Cam and I loved The Ventures when we were kids learning how to play music. Those shows were a big deal to us!

We've been working like crazy to get the "Poddy Rules the World" works of Gilbert Shelton ready for the grand opening on June 7. It's gonna be a dilly! Great poster art, photos, comic book strips and more. Every Sunday, panels of experts will discuss Gilbert and his work. Wonder Warthog comics, Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics, album covers Gilbert designed, and those fabulous Vulcan Gas Company posters. The original Vulcan Gas Company sign designed by Gilbert that stood over the front door of that psychedelic shack will be on display along with the front of the Vulcan ticket booth. See you there!
