Tex-Guns

Tex-Guns Tex-Guns: family owned and operated since 1983 Since opening our doors in 1983, Tex-Guns has remained both locally owned and a family owned total care gun shop.

We specialize in hard-to-find ammunition and accessories, as well as military collectable's and surplus type fi****ms. Located on Manchaca Road in the heart of South Austin - our shop contains a large selection of military rifles and handguns, as well as many of the latest items for hunting, self-defense, and cowboy action shooting. We have the ability to offer "on the go services" with little or

no waiting. Our shop takes in a wide variety of trades, and a no-charge ninety day layaway is available for most guns. We offer free on-site appraisals for up to ten items, and have established a very competitive consignment plan for those who wish to maximize their return when selling their fi****ms. Our shop atmosphere is both relaxed and friendly as we hold a vast knowledge about different types of fi****ms from present day throughout the past. It is to no surprise that most of our customers are on a first name basis and have been coming back for 10, 15, and 20 years or more!

11/09/2014

Tex-Guns will be closed on Saturday (Nov. 15), Tuesday (Nov. 18), and Wednesday (Nov. 19) so that the family can attend & celebrate the wedding of Casey & Heather. The store will re-open on Thursday (Nov. 20) with our normal hours. As always...we appreciate ALL of our wonderful customers (and even some of the "not-so-wonderful" customers). :-)

Had an older gentleman come into the store today, and asks for pepper spray. We showed him what we had, and then he wanted a stun gun...a taser...and a stun gr***de. Said that he was being stalked...and they had planted microphones & cameras in his house. I wanted to suggest that he go back to his doctor, and change his prescription. :-) Thankfully...he bought his pepper spray & left.

We've had a regular customer at the store who is legally blind for about 20 years (they shoot using a spotter). Yesterday, he brought 3 of his co-workers at Lighthouse for the Blind into the store with him...you should have seen the looks on the faces of the folks in the parking lot when 4 blind guys with white canes walk into a guns store! Priceless!

08/28/2014

This just in...Tex-Guns will be closed on Saturday (08/30/2014) as part of the Labor Day weekend. We wish ALL of our great customers plus everyone everywhere to enjoy a SAFE and fun holiday weekend. :-)

07/20/2014

Just to let everyone know...the Executive Order Obama issued concerning the ban on importation of Russian made AK's (ie. Saiga) DOES NOT include AK style rifles made in other countries (such as Poland, Romania, etc.). We do expect the price of Russian made ammo (ie. Brown Bear, Tula, Wolf, etc.) to climb due to a lessening of supply.

07/03/2014

We will be closed this coming Friday & Saturday in honor of the July 4th holiday & weekend. Wishing all of you (especially our fantastic customers) a happy and SAFE holiday...
