THRIFT-FIT of the day: Not Happy
I’m going to be real. Thrifting isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. I hate my thrift-fit today. I love the shirt, but when I wear it, it is ill-fitting. I am uncomfortable.
What we don’t think about often is that our clothing tells a story.
We may hide behind big comfy sweatshirts.
We may seek compliments on a nice dress.
We may seek conversation with a funny tshirt.
Our clothing might say: I am a goth. Or, I am an attorney. Or, I am an artist. It may say all three of those things as well.
I think that no matter what our style, if our clothing is uncomfortable, we are uncomfortable. It is more difficult to move through the day.
So, even though this shirt has a fun thrift memory for me (I was driving across Texas and stopped to thrift in Amarillo), I need to either donate it, upcycle it, or cut it into fabric scraps.
I think I will add it to the upcycle pile, because I really like the fabric and the memories!! Ohhh, I already like the idea of a ruffle collar and cap sleeves!! 🤩💕🎉
