We are thrilled to announce the newest art installation adorning the walls of the main dinning room Bouldin Creek Cafe

Maya Sokora is an Austin based self-taught painter who has spent her whole life using art as a way to create spaces where she can feel a sense of belonging.

After attending Arts Magnet High School in Dallas, Maya moved alone to New York City where she sang and played guitar in her punk-edged rock band for 13 years, performing at legendary venues such as CBGB and Webster Hall.

Almost 2 decades later she wrote and starred in an indie sci-fi film, RAIN, as a response to the lack of Black women represented in the genre at the time.

In 2011, her world would shatter when her only child was stillborn. That experience ignited an endless obsession with creating heart paintings as a way to visualize and communicate her profound grief and love.

Over the past 12 years, Maya’s hearts and painting style have evolved into an obsessive exploration of afterlife mythologies and timeless cultural symbolism, heavily influenced by the vibrant New York City street art which colored her world for so long .

✨all artwork is for sale and will be on display July 28th - Sept 1st 2027✨

Are y’all looking for something fun to do TOMORROW?!?!?
Well here ya go! Please go out and support our friends over roadrunner.relics
・・・
🎉Join roadrunner.relics this Saturday July 11th for our OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING PARTY!!

They have 35+ Vendors and tons of floor to explore! We are restocking late Friday night to have new goodies!

⏰From 11-3 Enjoy live DJ Bubs Unique, pop up vendors, drinks, and treats inside and out back (while they last!)

🚨Parking might get a bit hairy, so please utilize neighborhood/street parking where possible. We have front and side parking but it will be limited and South Lamar is one hell of a road. Carpool if you can. Our side lot is designed for cars to pull in at an angle and must back out. Skip it if it feels too tricky, there are other places to park.

🌞It will likely be hot but we will have fans, cool drinks and cool attitudes to match - let’s have a good time.

See you there! Respect the neighbors!
