Hi, everyone 👋
I’m EJ, the owner of Purple Rice. Since we opened, we’ve had so many small local businesses pop up at our store, and I’ve learned so much from watching them share their food, stories, and passion.
At Purple Rice, one of our biggest visions has always been to connect with people and build community through food.
Running a small business isn’t easy, but I’ve learned how important community is — supporting each other, sharing what we’ve learned, and growing together along the way. I think that’s one of the beautiful parts of being a small business owner.
That’s what gave me the courage to start doing gimbap pop-ups — a fun and unique way to introduce Korean food, meet new people, and connect with our community outside of Purple Rice.
My daughter, Ellie, helped me with my very first pop-up, which made it extra special. Then she went back to college in LA, so now I’m doing these on my own! 😅 Still a little shy about it, but I’m having fun with it.
A big thank you to Strangelove Coffee & Wine for welcoming me and supporting my little gimbap journey. ❤️
