Patriot Mobile CMO Scott Coburn recommends starting with an honest conversation about the risks and why you want to make changes. He says children need to understand that the rules come from love and a desire to protect them.

Apple doesn’t have to be patriotic for Americans to benefit.

The company has committed up to $100 million over three years to Perryman, a family-owned titanium manufacturer in Pennsylvania that supplies material for its phones.

I don’t think this means Apple has suddenly become conservative-friendly or patriotic. But if manufacturing here makes sense for their business, that’s good news for the Americans doing the work and the communities around them.

Apple’s decision to buy from Perryman is a reminder that where we spend our money matters to the businesses receiving it. The same applies to our own purchases. One Bison helps people find out who’s behind a business and what it stands for, so they can make those choices with more information.

“Everybody else has one” tells you what other families are doing. It doesn't tell you whether your child is ready.

Before buying a first phone, ask:
• Can they look after it responsibly?
• Can they follow the rules you set for using it?
• Are you making the decision around their maturity, or pressure to keep up?

Patriot Mobile CMO Scott Coburn says he and his wife felt that pressure too. His advice is to look at your child's maturity before deciding it's time. You would set rules before handing over a bicycle. A phone deserves the same thought.
