❤ Step 5: Restore the Relationship

📖 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32

There is so much to say with this one. Lately, I’ve been on both sides of this.

As a parent, I’ve had to demonstrate the importance of saying “I’m sorry”—whether I got too frustrated or didn’t completely listen for the 200th time. 😅

Then I ask them directly: “Will you forgive me?”

And in return, I teach them how to apologize, take responsibility, and ask for forgiveness when they’ve made a mistake.

Thank God kids are much more willing to forgive than adults! ❤️

🌱 Step 4: Choose Better Next Time

📖 “Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Sometimes a true apology also means trying to make a better choice next time for a situation.

My wife and I often say "I'm sorry" then we let them know. Next time I will do this instead.

When we teach our children to learn from their mistakes, they grow in wisdom, kindness, and become more like Christ. ❤️

When we teach our children to make things right, they learn responsibility, kindness, and how to restore relationships. ❤️
