🔥 SOLAR WIND MINE BIXBYITE + TOPAZ! 🔥

This one is a serious Utah mineral specimen! 🖤✨

Collected from the Solar Wind Mine in the Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah, this piece features striking metallic black bixbyite crystals, beautiful light-brown topaz, and a rhyolitic matrix.

🖤 Bixbyite — manganese-iron oxide with that incredible metallic luster
🤎 Topaz — translucent brown/golden crystals tucked throughout the matrix
⛰️ Rhyolite matrix — classic volcanic host rock from this famous Utah locality
✨ Associated minerals can include pseudobrookite and hematite

The contrast between the black bixbyite and the lighter topaz/matrix makes this one a killer addition to the collection.

🔥 FLUORITE & TOPAZ 🔥

This one came out of the Solar Wind Claim at Topaz Mountain, Utah — and the combination is a killer! 💜✨

Beautiful lavender/purple fluorite scattered across the matrix with golden-to-honey colored topaz crystals standing out against it. The contrast between the purple fluorite and warm topaz is what really makes this specimen pop.

🌈 SPENCER, IDAHO OPAL GEODES

This one is special because the host rock and the opal geode are shown together. The first specimen is the natural matrix these geodes form in at the Spencer Opal Mine in Spencer, Idaho—packed with rounded nodules and mineralized material. The second shows what can be hiding inside: precious opal with intense play-of-color, flashing greens, blues, reds, and oranges when the light hits it just right. 🌈✨

That contrast is what makes Spencer opal so cool—you can look at an ordinary-looking piece of host rock and realize there may be serious color locked inside the geode.

🐟 WYOMING FOSSIL COLLECTION! 🪨

This one is a Phareodus encaustus fossil fish from the Eocene Green River Formation, collected by me at Fossil Safari, Wyoming. 🐟🏔️

What really makes this slab stand out is the large, beautifully preserved fish with its massive skull and body, plus the smaller fish preserved alongside it. You’re looking at life from an ancient Wyoming lake system roughly 50 million years ago!

This honey-golden Topaz came out of the Solar Wind Mine in Juab County, Utah, featuring a striking black metallic Pseudobrookite crystal.

The contrast between that golden Topaz and the dark, elongated Pseudobrookite is what really makes this specimen stand out. 💎

🔥 500+ MILLION YEARS OLD ! 🔥

A trio of Cambrian trilobites from U-Dig Fossils, Utah — including the big one in the center, which is Asaphiscus wheeleri.

🦴 Largest specimen: Asaphiscus wheeleri
🦴 Other specimens: Elrathia kingii
📍 Location: U-Dig Fossils — Millard County, Utah
🪨 Formation: Wheeler Shale
⏳ Age: Middle Cambrian — roughly 505–520 million years old
🌊 Environment: Ancient marine ecosystem

Asaphiscus wheeleri is one of the classic trilobites of the Wheeler Shale. It belongs to the order Ptychopariida and family Asaphiscidae, and specimens from the Wheeler Shale can reach several inches in length. (Fossil at Utah⁠)

Think about that for a second…

These animals were crawling across the seafloor hundreds of millions of years before dinosaurs ever appeared. 🤯

And the coolest part?

👉 I dug these at U-Dig myself.

No buying specimens for the collection. Just getting out there, breaking rock and finding pieces of Earth’s history with my own hands.

This is why I love fossil hunting. You never know what is waiting inside the next piece of shale. 🔨🦴

💙💚 DESERT COPPER COLORS — AZURITE & MALACHITE 💚💙

One of my favorite combinations from Blue Mine near Moab, Utah — deep royal-blue Azurite running alongside vivid green Malachite, all packed into a rugged copper-mineral matrix.

The contrast in this piece is absolutely incredible. Nature doesn’t need paint when copper minerals can make colors like this. 🔥

🔥 SPENCER OPAL — IDAHO 🔥

Another beauty from the collection! This piece from the Spencer Opal Mine in Spencer, Idaho shows a gorgeous natural seam of precious opal running through its volcanic host rock. 💎✨

The real standout is that blue, green, violet, and rainbow play-of-color flashing along the opal seam as the light moves across it. No two pieces show exactly the same pattern — that’s what makes natural opal so addictive to collect!

🐟 GREEN RIVER FOSSIL FISH — WYOMING

One of Today’s find from Fossil Lake Safari near Kemmerer, Wyoming!

Pulled this plate myself today from the famous Green River Formation, preserving multiple fossil fish from the ancient Fossil Lake ecosystem.

These little fish are representative of the Knightia group — one of the most abundant fossil fish found in the quarry. Knightia was a small schooling fish related to modern herrings and sardines, and the fossils are famous for the incredible detail preserved in the fine lake sediments.

🌊 Buried Beneath an Ancient West Texas Ocean…🏜️

This incredible ammonite fossil was collected near Big Lake, Texas, where a warm, shallow sea covered the region roughly 100 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period. Every ridge and chamber tells the story of a marine predator that lived alongside some of Earth’s most fascinating prehistoric creatures.

Interesting Facts:
🌀 Ammonites used their chambered shells to regulate buoyancy in ancient seas.
🦑 They are extinct relatives of today’s squid, octopus, and nautilus.
🌎 Their fossils help geologists date rock layers and reconstruct ancient environments.
