A huge thank you to Xcel Energy and Holy Cross Energy who worked tirelessly through the night to restore power across the Vail Valley. We often take electricity for granted until it's suddenly gone, and we're incredibly grateful for the people who worked long hours to get our electric back on.

After 13+ hours without power, it was also a good reminder that a little preparation goes a long way. A small generator, a few candles, battery-powered lanterns, a gas camping stove, extra batteries, and a battery pack to charge your phone can make an unexpected outage much more manageable.

Today we're incredibly thankful for our hardworking utility crews—and for the reminder that preparedness brings a little peace of mind when life doesn't go according to plan.
