The primary purpose of Memorial Day is to mourn, remember, and honor the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces. Unlike Veterans Day, which celebrates all who have served, Memorial Day is dedicated exclusively to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
๐บ๐ธSunrise to Noon: The flag is flown at half-staff to honor and mourn the members of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Noon to Sunset: The flag is briskly raised to the top of the staff and flown at full-staff to symbolize the perseverance and resilience of the nation.
