On August 22, 2025, we lost our beloved Mary Ann Brown. She ran our Jameson Homestead Antique in Avon, Ohio for 46 years. We are heartbroken at losing her. She will forever remain in our hearts. Our sympathies to the Brown Family and to all who loved her.

Mary Ann Brown, 89, of Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025. She was born November 29, 1935, in Elyria, Ohio, to parents, John and Mary (nee Polchey) Dovin.

Mary Dovin was born in Elyria, then moved to Oberlin where she grew up working on the family dairy farm. While working for the Dovin Dairy Farm, which eventually grew to be one of the largest and most well-known dairies in Lorain County, Mary also worked at the Milford Rivet Company. She met Carl Brown from Vermillion at McGarvey's Restaurant and after their marriage July 20, 1963, they lived in Lorain and later settled in Avon Lake.

Mary enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family during the holidays and on special occasions. After raising her family, Mary began working and running her antique business called Windflower Antique's. She later opened the Jameson Homestead in 1979, which was a multi dealer antique shop. It ended up being the last antique shop in Avon and she operated it until her passing and will close its doors at the end of this December. Mary will be remembered for her passion and vision for the antique business and spending time with her antique dealers within the Jameson Homestead, which she cared for very much and became her close friends, very much like another family.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Carl Brown; loving son, Kevin (Nancy) Brown; beloved grandson, Kevin (Colleen) Brown; cherished great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Emma Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Dovin, and sisters, Helen Youngeberg and Rose Helke.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 32946 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake, Ohio
Memorial contributions in Mary's honor are suggested to Community Resource Services of Avon and Avon Lake https://aalcrs.org/www.buschcares.com, 440-933-3202
