Gen X school Halloween parties were absolutely unhinged.

Paper pumpkins taped to the classroom walls. Orange drink in tiny cups. Waxy grocery-store cupcakes. Plastic masks you could barely breathe in. Somebody’s mom running the whole thing with no theme and it was GLORIOUS! LOLZZ

Not long ago, this lil goober used to be able to fit through the little cat gate…he’s now 7 months old! I think his sissy would have loved him…such a super sweet boy!

I’ve been saying for a while that we need to start looking at WHO is actually behind some of the garbage being pushed into our feeds.

Today alone I came across five profiles pushing racist, homophobic and hateful crap that showed clear signs of being bots/fake accounts. Five. In one day.

That is totally their game …a lot of this isn’t about changing minds. It’s about making all of us angrier, more suspicious of each other and more divided. Wasn’t it Nikita Khrushchev who said that he would destroy America from within?

We’re heading into the midterms. Rage bait, fake accounts, coordinated posts and outright disinformation are going to get worse, not better.

Before you share the thing that makes your blood boil, LOOK AT THE ACCOUNT. Look at its history. Look at what it posts. Look at whether there appears to be an actual human being behind it.

Racism is real. Homophobia is real. Hate is real. But there are also people, bots and coordinated networks that know exactly how to exploit those things to turn Americans against one another.

Don’t do their work for them.

We can disagree without letting somebody else manipulate us into hating each other.
