What better way to spend a Father’s Day Weekend than having the master re-teach me some old tricks. I haven’t built any rods in 25 years so rebuilding a custom dad built in 1987 is a good way to get my feet wet again.

Picture to get your attention. If you’re seeing this you’ve been a die hard fishing guy or gal who appreciates the work that dad has done over the decades and we appreciate all of you! He just turned 80 back in March despite some serious medical setbacks years ago. That being said, we all have to slow down at some point whether we want to or not. As a family we have agreed that new Custom Builds are just not feasible at this time, it’s too taxing on dad. I’m not in a position to handle the orders either at this time but it doesn’t mean that I won’t be building rods again in the future. Repairs and refinishing will be handled on a case by case basis. I don’t post much on here because this page was created mainly as a means to contact us for rods etc. Dad had had some serious health issues recently so all new/custom builds are on hold until I can get back up to speed with the business. If you’ve reached out for a custom build since the start of the year contact me via text/phone 850-501-9095 so I can follow up and complete it. We have a substantial inventory of Freshwater & Saltwater rods on the racks for immediate purchase in the interim. Since 1978 this has been his passion and he’s been the best mentor/father ever. He’s taught me so much about the builds but there is still a lot to learn. Now I’m nearly as old as the company and hope to continue the legacy with his grandchildren using the attention to detail and experience that has been passed on. Thank you all and tight lines! -Jamie

Saltwater is where Dad started and I’m happy to say we are literally dusting off some of our personal rods for a project to be announced soon. Most of these rods haven’t been used since the early 90’s as you can see. I’ll be documenting the refurbishment project as we get them ready for their trip back to Key West.

As always we’ll happily provide free product demonstration on request! Went out yesterday with a friend and let him try out a stand-up 50 # rod. Also caught some sizable Bonita on #12 spin and plug. Always happy to assist with advice and tips for light tackle rigging, techniques and rod care. Most of the ones we use personally were built about 35 years ago. Custom built and made to last 🙂.

Social distancing done right in our backyard earlier today. This particular rod was built by dad about 40 years ago and is still going strong! In these strange times I invite all of our fans to post a photo with their Knightstik and a fish!
