Tomorrow’s the day!

The highly anticipated Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Chaos Rising officially drops at The Retro Handheld inside and we’re doing things a little differently with a TWO DAY release event.

Friday, 5/22:
Our first wave of Chaos Rising inventory hits the shelves.

Saturday, 5/23:
will be dropping our second wave of inventory for another shot at the set everyone is chasing.

That means two release days, two restocks, and two opportunities to catch Chaos Rising before it disappears. Booster boxes, ETBs, bundles, packs and more while supplies last.

Limit one per item, per person.

If it’s not a master set or an Eeveelution, I probably don’t collect it. At least that’s what I used to tell myself.

Recently I started a little side project: a favorites binder. A place for cards I’ve accumulated way too many versions of over the years like Pikachu, or Pokémon I’ve genuinely loved since day one like Tyranitar, Altaria, Ampharos, or Raichu to name a few.

What started as “just a few pages” somehow turned into an almost completely filled binder.

So now we’ve officially reached the next level… it’s time for TWO favorites binders.

Turns out collecting what makes you happy might be the most dangerous collection goal of all 😅

There’s something really special about watching a room full of people connected by a hobby they love. Today’s Cards & Coffee event was honestly everything we hoped it would be and more. Trades happening at every table, people showing off collections, kids learning about the hobby for the first time, longtime collectors helping newcomers, and conversations happening between complete strangers like they’d known each other for years. That’s the kind of community this hobby creates at its best.

One of the biggest reasons we wanted to host events like this at In Your Wildest Dreams is because hobbies like Pokémon, sports cards, One Piece, Magic, and gaming have always been about more than just cardboard. For a lot of us, these hobbies are tied to memories, friendships, childhood, family, and finding a place where you belong. Seeing that come to life inside our store means a lot to me personally.

As someone who grew up loving this stuff, being able to now create a safe, welcoming space where people can gather, trade, laugh, learn, and just enjoy the hobby together is something I never take for granted. Today wasn’t about selling tables or making transactions. It was about community. And seeing so many people show up to support that vision was honestly incredible.

Thank you to everyone who came out, brought binders, grabbed coffee, traded cards, shared stories, and helped make today what it was. This is exactly why we do what we do.
