So a few months ago Michele, depicted seated on the left, came into WR to buy tickets for our Vanessa Collier concert. From our conversation she revealed that she is a graduate of BHS, and is a retired colonel after a 34 year career in the U.S. Army medical corp, including a year in Baghdad during the height of fighting. For decades she is also a massage therapist and yoga instructor.
Our conversation turned to the importance of music. Michele looked me in the eye and said, “Music gets to places my fingers can’t.”
Soon after the Vanessa Collier concert Michele stopped by WR and gave Bonnie and me an invite to a project she has been thinking about for awhile… a sonic massage.
Several years ago Bonnie and I went to a “sound bath.” As I understand it, a sound bath is a time to relax while soothing sounds help. Michele’s concept is to start the evening with a band playing enjoyable instrumentals, then gradually reduce the music until sounds are very minimal. Likewise, attendees enter active, carrying their day, and gradually gear down in mind and spirit as the music decreases.

So Bonnie and I went, and it was a fabulous, relaxing music and sound experience. Well, naturally Michele wants to do this in the World Records theater with its amazing acoustics.
So here we go, Saturday night June 20.
