**UPDATE** Although RaceSaver has retracted their previous statement and reinstated the current tire rule for next year, we will still be moving forward with our own series
OFFICIAL 2027 SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT
After careful consideration and many conversations about the future of our program, the California 305 Sprint Car Series will operate as a fully independent series beginning with the 2027 season and will no longer be affiliated with the RaceSaver program.
This decision has the support of our drivers, teams, car owners, and sponsors—both longtime supporters and those newly joining our series. We are grateful for the confidence they have placed in us and excited about the direction we are taking together.
While our direction is changing, our core values are not. Our goal remains to provide an affordable and competitive place for teams to race while continuing to give unwavering support to the tracks and sponsors that support us. Money brought into the series will remain within the series and be reinvested directly into our racers and race program.
We are currently working with several tracks to build a strong 2027 schedule consisting of approximately 18–20 races. Our current payouts and start money will not decrease.
Fair competition and accountability will continue to be top priorities. Beginning in 2027, all events will be governed by the California 305 Sprint Car Series’ own official rules and procedures. Safety, competition, and technical rules, which several will remain as is, will be strictly enforced, with thorough and consistent technical inspection playing a major role at every event.
The series will also implement an open tire rule based solely on durometer readings:
The right-rear tire must read 45 or higher.
The left-rear tire must read 35 or higher.
Any tire meeting these requirements will be permitted, regardless of brand.
We are proud to enter this next chapter with the support of partners including, HD-TI, American Racer, Motor City Buick GMC Bakersfield, JE Pistons, CB Design Concepts, and more to be announced.
Additional information, including the complete 2027 schedule and official series rulebook, will be released as details are finalized.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who has helped build this series. We believe supporting those who support us and the best is still ahead and look forward to continuing to grow grassroots sprint car racing while putting our racers, tracks, sponsors, and fans first.
