The Center for Emerging Visual Artists is looking for students & recent graduates to work with the residents of Germantown Life on an intergenerational art project.
College students, graduate students and recent graduates: participate in a community-based project this summer with artist Amy Orr!
Broaden your resume, meet other students and connect with the community. No studio art experience necessary.
Location: Germantown Life, 6950 Germantown Ave (accessible by public transportation)
The program runs for 10 weeks from September 27th to December 6th Tuesdays, 10:45am-Noon.
The Project:
Credit Card Mandalas
New Courtland residents and student partners will work together to design and construct a colorful mosaic, made out of plastic cards. It will be designed in the form of a mandala, for a specific location in a New Courtland residence. Materials will include credit cards, bank cards, medical cards, gift cards, ID cards, etc. The plastic card mandala will sparkle with vibrant color, familiar words and logos.
